Quality System Overview

Return to Quality Assurance

Quality Philosophy

All individuals within VEMAX are responsible for quality. Each person has the authority and responsibility to detect non-conforming products, processes and services.  No product will be delivered to the client (internal and external) until such time as the non-conformity has been resolved through corrective action. The method for executing these responsibilities is defined by the people responsible for managing or directing the work being performed and in the quality procedures specific to each area.

The Managing Partner of VEMAX is responsible for ensuring that all policies defined in the VEMAX Quality Manual are implemented by the responsible personnel and for the appointment of the Quality Manager.

The Managing Partner is also responsible for the overall quality program and the efficient and effective operation of VEMAX. The Managing Partner has the responsibility of settling any quality related problems not resolved by the Quality Manager, in cooperation with the supervisors.

The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that the requirements of ISO 9001, 1994 Quality Program Standards are implemented. The Quality Manager also has the final authority within the Company to determine if the products, processes and services meet specified requirements. The Quality Manager may, if necessary, stop delivery of non-conforming goods until the disposition has been determined.

VEMAX interacts with the Client organization at several levels. The Managing Partner is responsible for ensuring that the Project Manager is fully committed to clear and open communications with the Client’s organization at all levels.

Quality System Documents

The components of the VEMAX Quality Manual are used by project staff to develop quality plans.

The quality system is made up of policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and forms in the hierarchy displayed in the diagram. The components are defined as:

  • Quality Policies: What must be done
  • Standard Operating Procedures: How it is to be done
  • Standards and Forms: How you record the process/outputs
  • Guidelines: Suggests how you could do it

Resources

VEMAX ensures that adequate resources and personnel are available to carry out the functions of the quality system. This includes the training of personnel for performance of work and verification activities, including quality audits.
